PRODUCT

DOING MORE WITH LESS. WE’VE BEEN DOING THAT SINCE 1947.

We’re mindful of what we put into our clothes. And even more mindful of what we don’t put into them. Our planet’s resources are limited so we’re constantly re-thinking how ourproducts are made and what they’re made of, finding more ways to use less.

MATERIALS

Sustainable Cotton

By 2025, all cotton in our denim will be grown using land-sustaining practices like no-till farming, crop rotation and cover cropping. These measures make crops more resilient while improving yields, reducing water and energy use and fighting erosion. Through our partnership with the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), together with our sister brand Lee we have increased our purchase of sustainable cotton from 700 MT in 2014 to 21,299 MT in 2020.

Recycled Fibers

We’re tackling the fashion industry’s waste problem head on by investing in new ways to use recycled cotton, polyester and other fibers in our clothes. We are keeping these materials from ending up in landfills while retaining the iconic look and feel of our denim.

Hemp

Hemp is being turned to across the industry as a natural alternative to cotton because it can require less water and pesticides. Our hemp fabric has a softness comparable to cotton while potentially being easier on the land and the environment as a whole.

Biodegradable + Compostable

While Wrangler jeans are timeless, we don’t want them around forever. We are pioneering the development of denim clothes that are biodegradable or compostable to ensure the natural materials can break down and safely return to the Earth.

PROCESSES

Indigood

Indigood is our ever-growing collection of technologies that remove a minimum of 90% of water use throughout the production of fabric, compared to conventional fabric production. As more of our denim is made using our Indigood process, it will play a large role in reaching our goal of reducing our water consumption by 50% by 2030.

EarthWash

Better chemistry is better for the planet and the people who make our iconic denim. So we’re constantly working to be smarter and safer with how we make our clothes. We’ve already eliminated potassium permanganate spray, stone wash, bleach and waste water from our processes. And that’s just the beginning of the steps we’re taking to make our products more friendly to the Earth.

Circularity

Our partnership with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, The Jeans Redesign and our use of recycled fibers is the start of our commitment to circularity and finding new ways we can turn old clothes into the next pair of Wrangler jeans.

Factory Compliance

We work with countless factories around the world to produce our denim and apparel. Each of them is held to the same standards of worker safety, sustainability and quality assurance as our company-owned factories to ensure that every Wrangler piece represents our core values.GLOBAL COMPLIANCE

Product Safety

We have spent the past 75 years building trust in the Wrangler name. Every day we seek to earn that trust again and again by ensuring our customers who wear them. That means having industry-leading quality control and safety measures while continually refining them to stay ahead of changing conditions, materials and processes.

Environmental Impacts

Our suppliers play a critical role helping us achieve our sustainability goals so we hold them to the same environmental standards as our Wrangler-owned facilities. Starting in 2023, we will only source from suppliers who complete the HIGG Facility Environmental Module (FEM), a important tool in assessing a vendor’s sustainability performance.
